Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen and SNDWAY Establish Intelligent Laser Ranging Joint Laboratory Project

On June 13rd, 2023, the launch ceremony of the joint Intelligent Laser Ranging Laboratory of HITSZ & SNDWAY took was held in Sndway Science & Technology Industrial Park, Humen, Dongguan.

Sun Yunxu, the Vice President of School of Electronics and Information Engineering of HITSZ, Huang Xiaoqiong, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Electronics and Information Engineering of HITSZ, Jiang Shiyuan, the President of Dongguan Artificial Intelligence Industry Association and He Gang, the General Manager of SNDWAY Technology attended the launch ceremony together.

The Intelligent Laser Ranging Joint Laboratory has been established under the organization of the Dongguan Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, through a strong collaboration between HITSZ and SNDWAY. It aims to establish a core technology research and development base, an incubation base for independently innovative products, an industrialization base, and a high-level talent training base, to achieve technological innovation and provide corresponding products and technical services for the global laser measurement industry and enterprises.  

At the launch ceremony, Sun Yunxu, the Vice President of School of Electronics and Information Engineering of HITSZ, expressed high recognition for the establishment of the joint laboratory. He hoped that by strengthening strategic cooperation between both parties, it would promote a synchronous resonance between the university and the development of enterprises, providing new ideas and directions for the innovation of laser ranging technology, and he had high expectations for the project.

He Gang, the General Manager of SNDWAY Technology, expressed the hope that through this collaboration with HITSZ, more technically skilled talents will be cultivated for the industry, achieving technological breakthroughs, surpassing the performance of mainstream international products, and accelerating the process of domestic substitution for laser instruments.

At the same time, Huang Xiaoqiong, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Electronics and Information Engineering of HITSZ, expressed the expectation that both parties will collaborate in areas such as talent cultivation and technological innovation to promote deep integration between the university and enterprises, yielding research and innovation outcomes that achieve a win-win situation for both.

As a national key university undertaking national 973 and 863 programs, major national science and technology projects, significant consulting projects from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Guangdong provincial science and technology programs, and Shenzhen municipal science and technology projects, HITSZ School of Electronic and Information Engineering's strong partnership with SNDWAY Technology will open new avenues for collaboration between SNDWAY and high-caliber talents from universities. This collaboration will also take on a new mission of innovation within the laser measurement industry, which is of great significance for promoting the development of this sector.

The successful conclusion of this launch ceremony marks the beginning of deep cooperation between the university and the enterprise. Both parties will take this collaboration as an opportunity to unite efforts, achieve resource sharing, complement each other's strengths, and jointly explore talent cultivation methods that integrate industry, academia, and research.
